When choosing framing & blocking for a traditional film narrative it commands a high level of authoritarian perspective from the cinematographer. You are telling the audience how to view a scene with the hope of eliciting the desired emotional resonance. In contrast, theatre and especially performative dance, is a more personal general viewing experience. I thought greatly about wanting to use the tools of framing and blocking to enhance Sarra's choreography knowing it was created originally to be consumed in a very different manner.
