Circus Circus Something

This film was made in conjunction with a production design course in college. This was the first film I worked deeply with a production designer; it taught me the value in understanding why you want something, what is it justifying the camera to do? What is truly needed for your story. For the course, we were given 3 hours to shoot on a stage, this forced me to distill the story down to something simple. I took away how focused camera movement and pacing can deliver a powerful image with limited resources.

BFA Thesis - This project had me focus on implementing many small choices to keep the visuals intriguing in an otherwise talking head film. When do we jump into the conversation with the camera? Do we jump the line here? How is the set & wardrobe choices an extension of the story?

The lockdown from covid inspired me to make this project. With everything ever more online and everyone staying indoors, it's hard to find peaceful moments at home.
